SHOULD I USE A TRACKER OR FIXED MOUNT FOR MY SOLAR MODULES?
MY WELL OR STORAGE TANK IS IN A VALLEY SURROUNDED BY TREES, CAN I STILL USE SOLAR?
A: Yes, we advise you to relocate your solar panels uphill so they are in direct sunlight. Our solar pumps come standard with 2m of pump wire built-in, however, we have additional lengths available, allowing you to purchase up to several hundred feet.
HOW MUCH WATER DO I NEED FOR A VILLAGE PUMP?
A: This very much depends on the amount of people (and animals) dependent on the pump. Generally speaking, you can calculate with the following numbers in case of a central water pump:
20 – 50 liters / day per person
30 – 150 liters / day per cow (depends very much on whether they are producing milk or not)
5 – 10 liters / day per goat or sheep

WILL THE SOLAR PUMP STOP WORKING WHEN THERE IS A SHORTAGE OF WATER IN THE WELL?
A: Yes. solar pump has Intelligent water shortage protection: The pump stops working automatically when there is no water in the well, and automatically start working 30 minutes later.

CAN I USE SOLAR PUMP FOR SALT WATER APPLICATIONS?
A: No. The solar pump cannot be used for salt water. Can only be used in clean water. Salt water is corrosive to a certain extent, has a corrosive effect on the water pump, and will reduce the service life of the water pump. Moreover, the salt in the salt water will accumulate in the water pump, block the water pump, and make the water pump unable to work normally.

HOW LONG DO THE SOLAR PUMP SYSTEMS LAST?
A: The solar panel has a power output warranty of 25 years and cause very little trouble. They have no moving parts to wear out.
The motors in the brushless motor pumps have a 20,000 hour rating. Water quality and proper installation are key factors in how long the pumps will last. If the pumps are placed in sandy or dirty wells, premature wear is inevitable.

CAN AC/DC HYBRID SOLAR PUMPS BE USED IN COUNTRIES WITH 110V VOLTAGE?
A: Solar pump has designed a new hybrid solar pump. AC input voltage range is 72V-280V. It can be applied to countries with different voltages such as 110v and 220v.

WHAT IS A MOTOR-TYPE BRUSHLESS DC SOLAR WATER PUMP?
A: The motor-type brushless DC pump is composed of a brushless DC motor and an impeller. The shaft of the motor is connected to the impeller. The brushless motor is driven by direct current, and the brushless motor drives the impeller to rotate, so that the pressure of the liquid is increased to achieve the function of transferring the liquid.
Permanent magnet DC brushless synchronous motor: no need to use carbon brush for commutation, long service life. High efficiency, saving energy, reducing the amount of solar panels.

WHAT ARE THE WARRANTIES FOR A SOLAR PUMP SYSTEM IN TANZANIA?
A: The warranty period is as follows:
Solar panels: 10 years
Pump controller: 2 years
Solar water pump: 2 years

CAN I USE THE GENERATOR TO MAKE THE PUMP WORK ON RAINY DAYS?
A: The hybrid pump of solar pump supports both AC and DC power input. At night without light or on rainy days. You can use commercial power or generators to make the pump work.

CAN THE SPEED OF THE PUMP BE ADJUSTED?
A: Yes, the controllers come standard with a speed adjustment dial whereby you can reduce the speed of the motor if needed.

WHAT ARE THE PROBES USED FOR AND ARE THEY NEEDED?
A: The probes are used to protect the motor from running dry. On the borehole pumps it's advised to make use of them, however, on swimming pool pumps they are not needed.

WILL A SOLAR PUMP STOP PUMPING ONCE THE TANK IS FULL?
A: Solar pumping systems utilize a controller that among other things will accept the input from a float switch in your tank which tells the pump when to start and stop. We will give you a float switch in our accessories. Some of the other functions of pump controllers are low water cut-off, lightning protection and load matching through the use of maximum power point tracking from the solar array.

HOW DO I DETERMINE THE AMOUNT OF PANELS NEEDED FOR MY SOLAR PUMP?
A: The easiest way to determine this is to add 30% on top of the pump wattage for minimum requirements and recommended would be 50%. I.e. a 500w pump requires minimum 650w and recommended 750w to operate.
When configuring and connecting solar panels, you also need to check the maximum working voltage and optimal working voltage range of the pump. The open circuit voltage of the solar panel should not exceed the maximum voltage range of the water pump. The working voltage of the solar panel is best within the optimum working voltage range of the water pump.

DO I NEED BATTERIES TO OPERATE AN SOLAR PUMP SYSTEM?
A: No. All of solar pump systems are designed to operate with direct solar. However, they can be operated via batteries if needed for on-demand use.

WHICH IS BETTER--A DC OR AN AC PUMP?
A: The DC pump can directly use the DC power generated by the solar panel to run the water pump. Reduce the power loss in the conversion process. Therefore, the DC pump is more efficient and requires fewer solar panels. The DC pump also does not require an inverter to convert the direct current generated by the solar panel into alternating current. Reduced costs.

CAN I USE THE EXISTING CABLE ON MY AC PUMP TO POWER THE SOLAR PUMP?
A: The solar pumps use a 4 core or 3 core cable and needs to be sized correctly based on the size of the solar pump required as well as the total cable distance. This is to ensure that the pumps performance does not get affected by volt drop over the cable distance. As long as the diameter requirements are met, the existing cables on the AC pump can also be used for solar pumps.

WHEN THERE IS NO WATER IN THE WELL, WILL SOLAR PUMP AUTOMATICALLY STOP WORKING?
A: Yes. SOLAR PUMP has Intelligent water shortage protection function. The pump stops working automatically when there is no water in the well, and automatically start working 30 minutes later. The whole process does not require manual operation and is completed automatically.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DSS, DPC, DSC SERIES?
A: DSS series are solar screw pumps. The characteristic of screw pump is high head and small flow. Suitable for domestic water supply.
DPC series are solar-powered plastic impeller submersible pumps. It is cost-effective, has a long service life, is more durable than a screw pump, and has a larger flow rate. However, the head is relatively small.
DSC series are solar submersible pumps with stainless steel impeller. Stainless steel impellers are more durable than plastic impellers, especially in waters with high sand content.
